Did you besties all conveniently forget their wallets for brunch again? Facebook Messenger has a solution for that.
Similar to the popular money-sending app Venmo, Facebook recently added a single-payee payments function into Messenger. Today, they’ve announced that now you can send and request money from your friends in a group message. It’ll even split the request based on the amount of people in the group chat or specific amounts from each person so that everyone gets to pay their fair share. And for an extra bonus, you’ll even get notifications as each person pays, so you’ll know who won’t be getting that extra mimosa next time you go out.
The downside? This specific feature is only available in the US at the moment. But, with single Facebook Payments available outside the US, hopefully it won’t be too much of a wait before we see this feature north of the border.
